Soraya Gadelrab is Portfolio Director at Montgomery Events, the UK’s market leading specialist exhibition organiser in the food, drink & hospitality sectors. Soraya runs the food, drink & hospitality portfolio including IFE, IFE Manufacturing Solutions, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, ScotHot and IFEX.

 

Soraya has an extensive knowledge of the food industry as well as the hospitality sector and has been invited on numerous occasions to judge some of the most prestigious awards in the sector; Great Taste Awards, Quality Food Awards, Academy of Chocolate Awards and World Beverage Innovation Awards. She also regularly hosts the Food, Drink & Hospitality Network series of webinars inviting industry experts on to discuss the big issues in the sector.

 

Soraya also sits on the Association of Exhibition Organiser’s Development Board and is Vice Chair of the Business Technology & Innovation Group.

 

Before working at Montgomery Events Soraya worked for the UK’s leading publisher Natmags, a subsidiary of Hearst Magazine’s after graduating with a BA (Hons) in Italian & International Studies from the University of Warwick. Having spent time living and working in Italy and Egypt, Soraya developed a passion for languages and speaks fluent Italian and conversational Arabic and is also competent in French.

Soraya is leading the Women in Exhibitions Chapter in UK.

If you could invite anyone to present with you on stage who would it be?

I'm still thinking of this one lol.

Imagine you are famous, who would you be?

A formula 1 driver. That way I'd be able to travel the world and drive fast cars for a living!

Who inspired you the most in your life and how?

My Dad, he was an entrepreneur who always had his own businesses and empowered me and my sisters to learn the businesses with him to set us up in later life.
